DOWNEY – Accomplished artist Lea Myles will serve as guest demonstrator at Tuesday’s joint meeting of the Downey Art League and the Traditional Artist’s Guild of Paramount.
The meeting begins at 7:30 p.m. at Furman Park.
Myles spent her youth on a small farm in Ohio. In 1963, after a successful music career, she moved to Southern California where her interest in painting blossomed.
Myles wrote, coordinated and appeared in the TV series, “The Magic Method of Oil Painting” featuring renowned landscape artist Bill Alexander. She also founded Magic Art Schools and served as vice president and instructor for 14 years before selling the company in 1988.
Myles is particularly noted for her landscapes and floral paintings, although she also enjoys seascapes and portraits. She currently paints in oils, acrylics and watercolors.
The demonstration Tuesday is free and open to the public.
