WRITTEN BY :   James Williams

Kevin Garnett scored 26 points to lead the Boston Celtics to a victory over the Miami Heat, 94-90, on the road in Game 5 of the Eastern Conference Finals.

With the win, the Celtics lead the Conference finals series, three games to two.

The winner of the first four games in the series went to the home team.

Aside from his 26 points, Garnett also had 11 rebounds, two assists, two blocks, and one steal against the Heat.

“He is our life, he just does so many things that do not have numbers,” Celtics coach Doc Rivers said. “He has been terrific for us.”

Celtics guard Rajon Rondo led all players with 13 assists and four steals in Game 5. Rondo also contributed with seven points.

As announced before the game, Chris Bosh played in Game 5 but did not start.

Bosh had been out since May 13th with an abdominal strain, missing nine postseason games.

It is the first time Bosh had not started in an NBA game since he began his NBA career, as a rookie during the 2003 season with the Toronto Raptors.

While he did not start the game, he did come off the bench to play 14 minutes. He scored nine points, shooting 3-for-9 from the field.

Bosh also contributed with seven total rebounds, including six offensive rebounds.

Heat forward LeBron James scored 30 points with 13 rebounds and two assists.

James’ teammate Dwyane Wade contributed with 27 points, six rebounds, and three assists.

The Celtics will look to close the series with a Game 6 victory at home, in Boston.
