To Kander and Ebb: Thanks ever so much for all the good music that you rendered to the country over the years, even though it seems to be a pity that it has fallen into the hands of a thoughtless licensing agent.
To the Downey Civic Light Opera: Thanks for bringing a lot of joy and happiness to the local culture as you produced Kander and Ebb’s fine works over the years, even though their licensing agent seems to have dealt you a cruel blow by forcing the cancellation of the final weekend’s performances of “As the World Goes ‘Round.” As they say in aerospace: illigitimi tauntum non-carborundum.
To the licensing agent for these productions: may the fleas of 1,000 camels infest your armpits for forcing the cancellation of such a wonderful show by so fine a group as the DCLO which was bringing culture to the locals in the manner that Kander and Ebb would have preferred that they had been allowed to do.
