DUI checkpoint yields 10 arrests

LAKEWOOD – Ten people were arrested, including an allegedly drunk underage drinker, at a DUI and driver’s license checkpoint in Lakewood on July 5.
More than 1,140 vehicles traveled through the checkpoint stationed at Del Amo and Pioneer boulevards.
Three drivers were arrested on charges of being under the influence of marijuana. Two people were allegedly drunk, including the underage drinker.
Three other drivers were caught in possession of illegal narcotics. One unlicensed driver was arrested and set to court.
Authorities arrested one person for knowingly allowing an unlicensed driver to drive.
