DOWNEY – Downey school officials are warning the public of a recent influx of “teen job” posters in south Downey that are often fronts for human trafficking.
The fliers are posted on telephone poles near schools and advertise jobs that pay “$150-$400 a week with free transportation.” Authorities say many of the jobs are not legitimate and could place children in dangerous situations.
The city of Downey has already removed hundreds of the posters in the past week alone.
