St. Joseph beats Bishop in league opener

LAKEWOOD – Jackie Ramirez batted in two runners as St. Joseph High School beat Bishop Montgomery, 7-1, Tuesday to pick up their first win of the season.
St. Joseph opened a 5-0 lead after three innings and didn’t look back.
Pitcher Maxine Rodriguez finished with six strikeouts for the Jesters.
St. Joseph (1-3) has a critical stretch of games coming up, with six games scheduled next week.
