DOWNEY – Professional trumpet player Willie Murillo, whose credits include performances with the swing band Brian Setzer Orchestra and work in television and film, will perform in the Downey High School theater May 29.
Murillo will perform with singer Becky Martin as part of a joint concert between the Downey High and Sussman Middle School music programs.
Murillo has extensive credits, including performances with Grammy Award-winning artists LeeAnn Rimes, Weezer, John Tesh, and others. He has also recorded music for McDonald’s and Nike commercials, and films such as “Gangster Squad,” “Cars” and “Christmas with the Kranks.”

Meanwhile, Downey High’s music department will also present a jazz concert this Wednesday in the campus theater at 6:30 p.m.
The school’s spring band and choir concert is scheduled for May 22, also at 6:30 p.m. in the theater.
