Air Force band performing free concert

DOWNEY – The U.S. Air Force Band of the Golden West will present a free matinee concert at the Downey Theatre on Sunday, May 17. Although the concert is free, tickets are required by calling the theater box office at (562) 861-8211. The concert begins at 3 p.m.

The U.S. Air Force Band of the Golden West is comprised of professional Airmen-musicians who support the global Air Force mission by providing musical products and services for official military, recruiting and community relations events.

Under the direction of Captain Dustin Doyle, the band is the largest ensemble within the organization.

The band tours the western states of California, Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Arizona, Utah and Nevada, performing a wide variety of music from standard concert band literature and military marches to jazz and pop arrangements, Broadway standards and, of course, patriotic music complete with instrumental soloists and featured vocalists.
