Amputees learn how to play sports

DOWNEY - Approximately 75-100 local amputees and people with disabilities will learn how to run, golf, fence, play soccer, basketball, football and compete in archery at a sports festival Sunday at Apollo Park.Paralympic athletes at the Multi-Sport Festival will teach amputees and disabled people ages 2-60 how to compete in a variety of sports. The event will be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Apollo Park, 12544 Rives Ave. Athlete registration is still available. For information, call (562) 803-3322.
