Animal shelters open Sunday

DOWNEY - Los Angeles County animal shelters will be open Easter Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.The shelters recently expanded their Sunday hours and will open on Easter "to accommodate families looking for a new pet." "Opening on Sundays gives us an additional opportunity to showcase the many wonderful animals at our shelters," said department director Marcia Mayeda. The Downey shelter is at 11258 S. Garfield Ave.
