Arc Walk next week

DOWNEY -- The annual Arc Walk for Independence will be held March 28 near Acapulco Restaurant at Stonewood Center.Registration begins at 7 a.m., with opening ceremonies at 8. The walk begins at 8:30. Walkers can choose a 1- or 3-mile course. Registration is $10 per walker (kids under 10 are free) and money raised will go towards the Arc of Southeast Los Angeles County, which works with people with developmental disabilities. Gene Gleason, news reporter for ABC-7, will emcee the event. The Los Angeles Laker girls are also expected to attend.
