Assemblywoman, Gangs Out of Downey to canvas local neighborhood

DOWNEY – Assemblywoman Cristina Garcia will host her monthly “walk and talk” Saturday, March 7, starting at 9 a.m. at Golden Park. Garcia will be joined by representatives of Gangs Out of Downey, who will canvass the local neighborhood to share information about their program and services.

Gangs Out of Downey is an all-volunteer organization that works to keep kids out of gangs through prevention, education and intervention. The non-profit meets once at month at City Hall.

Garcia’s office will also be accepting donations of new socks and underwear, and travel-sized toiletries, that will be distributed to the homeless and those in need.

The public is invited to the walk. Guests should meet in the park’s jungle gym at 9 a.m. sharp.
