Auxiliary board installs 2010-11 officers

DOWNEY - The Downey Regional Medical Center Auxiliary installed its 2010-11 board of directors at a luncheon event May 26.The new board includes Lois Rossi, president; Wilma Garcia, vice president; Joanna Orsel, volunteer orientation director; Claudia Graham, gift shop director; Jean Brown, ways and means director; Ruth Olson, secretary; Ruth Rodriguez, treasurer; and Wilma Brouwer, parliamentarian. The hospital auxiliary used the occasion to donate $30,000 to the non-profit medical center. The donation represented proceeds from the hospital's gift shop and other fundraisers held throughout the year. The auxiliary also awarded Volunteer Corps Member scholarships worth $1,000 each to high school seniors Dora Alvarez and Michelle Bertinelli.
