Boxing calendar to debut in Downey

DOWNEY – Professional boxer Alfonso Gomez will debut a 2015 calendar, featuring several professional boxers, at a launch event next Thursday, Dec. 18, at The Palms restaurant in Downey. The free event begins at 7 p.m. and is open to the public.

The calendar features portraits of current and former professional boxers, including Mia St. John, Jesus Soto Karass, Yeyo Thompson, Geral Washington, Eddie De La Huerta and Edgar Nava.

Several of the fighters are expected to be in attendance and available for free pictures and autographs.

Gomez launched his first boxing calendar in 2014. This year’s calendar “brings together boxers from all walks of life to illustrate their talent and teamwork in a captured moment.”
