Thursday, April 29At 8:30 a.m., a resident in the 8300 block of Cleta St. notified police about four male subjects entering a neighbor's backyard. Before officers arrived, the subjects were seen leaving in a vehicle. Responding officers saw a car matching the description nearby. The occupants were detained and arrested after the investigation revealed the suspects had attempted to burglarize the home. Friday, April 30 At 11:30 a.m. officers arrested an adult female after she entered Los Padrinos Juvenile Hall with narcotics. Deputies discovered narcotics in her possession as she went through the screening process. She was at the facility to attend a court proceeding for her son. Monday, May 3 At 9:45 p.m., officers responded to "Los Sombreros" restaurant, located in the 8000 block of Florence Ave. A male patron attempted to steal the Los Angeles County "Health Code sign." When an employee tried to stop him, the suspect became upset and threw two concrete blocks at him. The suspect was arrested nearby and booked for assault with a deadly weapon. Two people were seated in their vehicle in the 9900 block of Tecum road at 11:30 p.m. when they were approached by 3 male suspects, one brandishing a handgun. The suspects demanded their property and then fled in a small compact car. Thursday, May 6 At 11:00 a.m., officers went to an apartment complex located in 9800 block of Imperial Highway regarding a disturbance. Officers encountered numerous juveniles inside. One juvenile was arrested for being under the influence of narcotics and another cited for truancy. All the parents were contacted. At 11:30 a.m., officers responded to the 10800 block of Pico Vista regarding a burglary in progress. Officers arrested two males for attempted residential burglary. Sunday, May 9 At 1:30 a.m., a traffic collision occurred at Florence and Little Lake. A vehicle hit a fire hydrant causing water to flood the area. The driver abandoned the car at the scene. Detectives are investigating. Tuesday, May 11 At 9:00 p.m., a 17 year old male was assaulted and robbed of his iPod as he was walking in the 9200 block of Brookshire. The victim did not sustain any injuries. Detectives are investigating. Wednesday, May 12 At 11:30 a.m., an officer was flagged down to the front of Big Lots, located at 9020 Firestone Boulevard, regarding a possible robbery. Witnesses pointed out a suspicious male on motorcycle to the front to the business. As the suspect attempted to flee out of the parking lot on his motorcycle, he fell and was taken into custody. A replica handgun was found on the suspect. At 1:00 p.m., officers responded to Check into Cash, located at 9907 Paramount, regarding a robbery. Two suspects wearing hooded sweatshirts entered the business brandishing a handgun and demanded money. The suspects fled with the loss prior to police arrival. Detectives are investigating. At 4:15 p.m., officers responded to Warren High School regarding a robbery. A 16 year old student was confronted by two suspects. The suspects demanded his gold chain and struck the victim.
