Crime Report: Aug. 8, 2018

FRIDAY, AUGUST 3
At 4:30 pm, an adult male from Los Angeles climbed through the drive-thru window of Jack in the Box restaurant (9501 Imperial Hwy) yelling that he was “robbing the place” and that he wanted all the money. The employees retreated to the back office and called the police. Officers arrived and arrested him without incident.

Officers worked the downtown area from 10:00 pm until 3:00 am. They issued six municipal code citations for drinking in public, one for urinating in public, and one for sleeping in a vehicle. 

SATURDAY, AUGUST 4
At 12:35 am, officers responded on a report of shots fired inside of Embassy Suites Hotel (8425 Firestone Blvd). Officers responded and located evidence of a large party inside two rooms. Officers located a casing and evidence that a bullet had struck the railing. Detectives are investigating.

At 2:35 am, officers responded to a report of a fight inside the 20/20 Draft House (8228 Firestone Blvd). Officers located two females throwing chairs inside of the business. When officers attempted to detain the two females they both began to assault the officers. Ultimately, both were arrested.

Officers worked the downtown area from 10:00 pm until 3:00 am. They issued 13 municipal code citations for drinking in public and made one arrest for DUI. 

SUNDAY, AUGUST 5
At 3:25 am, officers responded to a report of vandalism on the 8000 block of Stewart & Gray Rd. When they arrived, officers located a female adult smashing vehicle windows with a tire iron. When officers approached to handcuff the suspect, she bit one of them. The suspect was arrested for vandalism and assault.

At 10:15 pm, officers were alerted to a stolen vehicle in the area of Paramount and Imperial. When they attempted to stop the vehicle, it failed to yield and a pursuit ensued. The vehicle entered the westbound 105 Fwy and transitioned to the southbound 710 Fwy before ultimately yielding. The adult female driver was taken into custody without further incident.
