Darlene Lohwasser passes away

DOWNEY - Darlene R. Lohwasser (Davis) passed away Aug. 9 after a long struggle with Parkinson's disease.She was born in Los Angeles in 1934 and lived in South Gate, attending South Gate High School. For many years she worked as a secretary for a California Federal Savings branch in Los Angeles. She married Walter Lohwasser in 1963 and moved to Downey in 1965. She was a graduate of Cerritos College, earning a journalism degree in 1979 after serving as campus editor for Talon Marks newspaper and Wings magazine. She is survived by her husband, Walter; two sons, Scott Davis and Jon Lohwasser, and two grandsons, Jered and Collin Davis. Interment was at Inglewood Park Cemetery on Aug. 16.
