Downey Adult School launches new EMT program

DOWNEY – Downey Adult School has been approved to begin offering an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) program. The 14-week class begins Feb. 10 and meets from 6-9 p.m., Monday through Thursday. Students who complete the course will be eligible to take the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technician exam.

According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, employment of EMTs and paramedics is expected to grow by 33 percent from 2010 to 2020, faster than the average for all other occupations.
