Downey Conservancy plans fundraiser at Bob's Big Boy

The Downey Conservancy, a newly-created non-profit group working to preserve Downey's historical and cultural resources, will host a fundraiser Oct. 20 at Bob's Big Boy. Anyone who shows an event flier between 7 a.m. and 10 p.m. will have 20 percent of their purchase donated to the Conservancy.The Conservancy was just awarded official non-profit status from the IRS last month, and already secured a $4,000 grant to study the Molly Prichter Estates neighborhood near East Middle School.
