'Edgar Allan Poe' at the library

DOWNEY - The life and works of Edgar Allan Poe will come to life at a special performance at the Downey City Library on Tuesday at 7 p.m.Actor Duffy Hudson will portray Poe in the free event held in celebration of National Library Week. "This program is perfect for both teens and adults," said Young Adult Librarian Julia Butler. "Edgar Allan Poe rises from the scene of his mysterious death to tell his life story." Visitors will learn how Poe wrote such classic poems as "The Raven," "Annabel Lee" and "The Tell-Tale Heart," Butler added. The event is sponsored by the Friends of the Downey City Library.
