Family raising money for Avon Walk

DOWNEY - The sixth annual Sue Phillips Memorial Fundraiser, which raises money for the Avon Breast Cancer Walk in the memory of late Downey resident Sue Phillips, takes place this Saturday with dinner, bingo and a silent auction.Phillips' family is trying to raise at least $1,800 - the minimum required to participate in the walk. The Avon Breast Cancer Walk is a two-day, 39-mile walk that is held in nine cities throughout the U.S. Phillips' family is participating in the Santa Barbara walk.
