Guerrero finishes basic training

DOWNEY - Army Pvt. Gabriel Guerrero has completed basic infantry training at Fort Benning in Columbus, Ga.During the nine weeks of training, Guerrero received training in drill and ceremonies, weapons, map reading, tactics, military courtesy, military justice, physical fitness, first aid, and Army history, core values and traditions. Additional training included development of basic combat skills and battlefield operations and tactics. Guerrero also received experience handling the various weapons and weapon defenses available to an infantry crewman. He is the brother of Marlene Curtis, of Downey, and son of Cynthia Jackson, of Los Angeles. He graduated from Santa Fe High School in 2011.
