Letter to the Editor: Foreign policy

Dear Editor:

Our foreign policy is like hitting your head against the wall: it feels good when you stop.

Even though we have the most powerful military force in the world, we lost the war in Korea and Vietnam and it looks like we'll lose it also in the Middle East.

It is not rocket science to figure out why we win battles but we lose the wars. It is simply that we do not fight with ideology.

Terrorist organizations are doing a big job recruiting impressionable Americans to do their dirty work. It is time we reverse that process and start indoctrinating people in those countries. We'll need the help of our Muslims to do it since they will know the cultural buttons to push to get the results we desire. But it must be a top priority agenda of higher importance than our military actions.

It has been proven time and again that military solutions don't work when ideology is left unchecked. It is time we learn that lesson and start paying the terrorists with their own money.
