Letter to the Editor: Ramon Casas' select inclusivity

Dear Editor:

I agree with district 1 candidate Ramon Casas that inclusivity is important. (“Ramon Casas Jr. Promises Conservative ‘Family Values’ if Elected to City Council,” 8/31/23)

I love Downey because we have events like the Greek Festival. I attend every year and do not feel excluded simply because I am not Greek. Likewise, I have attended pride festivals and have never felt excluded because I am not gay.

Mr. Casas’ narrow view of inclusivity extends only to groups he feels personally comfortable with. District 1 residents should vote for a candidate who supports inclusivity towards all parts of our community.
