Library auction items on preview

DOWNEY - June silent auction items are now on display inside the foyer of the Downey City Library.The items include "500 Nations - An Illustrated History of North American Indians" by Alvin M. Josephy Jr., a story of leaders, customs, political systems and ways of life; "Star Wars - Darth Bane Rule of Two" by Drew Karpyshyn and "Star Wars - The Phantom Menace," a wide-screen VCR collectors' edition; "Weber's Real Grilling" by Jamie Purviance featuring more than 200 original grilling recipes; and "Origami" by Steve and Megumi Biddle, the illustrated art of paper-folding inspired by Japanese prints from the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Bids can be placed in the Friend's Book Store located inside the library until June 27. All proceeds will help fund library events and materials.
