Margaret Cain was realtor and volunteer

DOWNEY - Margaret Cain, a longtime resident of Downey, passed away at her home on June 25. She was 84.Cain was born in Los Angeles on July 16, 1924, the youngest child of Horace and Margaret Otero (Arnett). She married Albert LeRoy "Roy" Cain on Feb. 15, 1948 and had four children, Kenneth, Terri, Julee and Roy Douglas. The family belonged to St. Raymond's Catholic Church since moving to Downey in 1960. Cain was a member of the Downey Board of Realtors and worked at Wendt Realty in the 1960s-70s. She led an active retirement - traveling often - and volunteered for many years at Rancho Los Amigos National Rehabilitation Center and Downey Regional Medical Center. She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Roy Cain; daughters, Terri Cain and Julee Schrader; grandchildren, Megan Schrader, Jeffrey Cain, Ryan Schrader, Patrick Schrader, and Jake Cain; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her sons, Kenneth and Roy Douglas; brothers, Alfred Otero Sr. and Horacio Otero; and sisters, Cricelia Olvera and Olga Fleming. Services and interment will be held today at Calvary Cemetery in Los Angeles.
