Mars Rover engineer to discuss book at Cerritos Library

CERRITOS − Author and Mars Rover chief engineer Robert Manning is scheduled to discuss his book, “Mars Rover Curiosity: An Inside Account from Curiosity’s Chief Engineer,” at the Cerritos Library on Monday, Dec. 1, at 7 p.m. The book is a firsthand nuts-and-bolts chronicle of Curiosity, the most advanced machine ever sent to another planet.

From the 2004 proposal for Curiosity to its 2012 landing, Curiosity’s journey of space discovery was plagued with numerous technical and political problems.

However, its subsequent triumph revolutionized planetary exploration, offering invaluable insight into the Red Planet.
