Massage parlor seeks permit to open near Lakewood and Gallatin

Eric Pierce September 5, 2017

A massage parlor is seeking a conditional use permit that would allow it to open inside a strip center near Lakewood Boulevard and Gallatin Road.

The Planning Commission will consider the request Wednesday night.

Located at 9237 Lakewood Blvd., the facility would offer full-body massages, including a combination of hot oil, Swedish, deep tissue, and shiatsu massages. There would be four massage beds separated by curtains and seven massage chairs for foot, neck and head massages.

The store’s windows would be clear, allowing the police to see inside.

City officials recommended approval of the conditional use permit, saying said the massage parlor meets necessary parking requirements and would “provide an added service to the residents and visitors of the surrounding area.”
