Norwalk extends deal for parking lot management

NORWALK - A contract with Parking Concepts Incorporated to manage the civic center's parking lots and parking structure was extended three years by the City Council on Tuesday. The current agreement, originally agreed upon in 2006 and extended in 2009, was set to expire June 30. The yearly rate stayed the same at $173,500 after PCI agreed to waive an anticipated increase in the Consumer Price Index. In a report to the City Council, public services director Gary DiCorpo praised PCI for their management of the parking lots. "To date, PCI has been performing their duties in a professional manner with high regard to customer service and owner loyalty," DiCorpo wrote. "Additionally, the contractor has been instrumental in assisting staff with reviewing procedures and expenses to create more efficient and cost effective operating measures." DiCorpro also wrote that Norwalk "strives to provide the most efficient parking in the Civic Center area."
