Reward offered in deadly hit and run

DOWNEY - Police are seeking leads in the fatal hit-and-run traffic collision that killed a Downey resident last week.The victim, identified as 58-year-old Michael Kunkle, was struck by a white SUV traveling northbound on Woodruff Avenue, south of Nance Street, at about 10:28 p.m. last Friday. Authorities said Kunkle was "walking in the roadway." The driver of the SUV fled, leaving Kunkle lying in the street. The L.A. County Board of Supervisors authorized a $10,000 reward this week for information leading to the arrest of the suspect. The suspect's vehicle should have damage to the front portion of the SUV.
