Shopping cart solution

Dear Editor:Regarding Mr. Dan Chantre's letter ("Shopping Carts," 7/26/13): There IS a shopping cart hotline: (800) 252-4613. I've phoned it many times over the years. And, while it's nice to think that a PSA in the Patriot might help, I tend to doubt it. I suspect that everyone who has ever taken a shopping cart from the store premises knows full well that they're really not supposed to do that; they just don't care. I also wonder about those who unload their cart and then leave it blocking a parking space instead of pushing it 10 yards to the collector area (and it appears as if some of them could really use the walk, too!).
