Summer is upon us

Well, once again it is time to put an end to late night study sessions and early morning alarms. Summer has finally arrived and for many that means endless days at the beach, countless nights away from home and sleeping in. This year has been a sensational year, from prom to visiting college campuses, senior year was all it was cracked up to be. Although graduation has passed, reminiscing on the most influential moments in high school is only expected. Meeting new friends, planning for the future and trying to discover yourself all along the way, a new life is to begin. As my father told me at graduation, "This is your day, day one of your life, what are you going to do?". Even though my plans are pretty concrete in what happens from here on out, I know that anything at the drop of a hat can change that.Through out the summer I will continue writing with the Downey Patriot, so that I will never lose my touch. I was once told that you are never to forget about those who helped you while you were trying to succeed, the Patriot has strengthen me as a writer and I shall never forget all that I've learned. So now as I set off into the great endeavors of life, I'll never forget where my roots were formed.
