The Downey Kiwanis Club

DOWNEY - The Downey Kiwanis Club coordinated an assembly Jan. 21 for Gauldin Elementary School's ASPIRE program. John Casillas, past president of Kiwanis, spoke to the kids about the importance of being good students, demonstrating positive citizenship and getting involved in the community. Superintent Wendy Doty spoke to students about Character Counts, while Mayor Mario Guerra provided students with fun and historical facts about Downey.
