DOWNEY – The Downey Unified School District’s TLC Family Resource Center will celebrate its 15th anniversary with a fundraiser luncheon Wednesday, Feb. 11, at the Rio Hondo Event Center. The event begins at 11:30 a.m. and will celebrate “the great triumphs TLC has concurred over the last 15 years.”
Festivities include a live performance by the Downey High Jazz Ensemble, a variet of guest speakers, and speeches by DUSD Director of Student Services Dr. Robert Jagielski, who oversees the TLC program, and TLC coordinator Luz Perez.
“This year is very special because it marks TLC’s 15-year anniversary,” said Dr. Jagielski. “Projecting a strong turnout, this event will make it possible for TLC to continue offering a high level of service to our families in need.”
The TLC Center offers an array of health and social services to students in need, including health insuranc enrollment, counseling, vision exams, health check-ups, and more.
