Toastmasters earns highest honor

DOWNEY - Downey's Toastmasters Club 587 has earned the distinction of President's Distinguished Club for the fourth year in a row.Toastmasters is a worldwide leader in helping people become better public speakers. Each year the Distinguished Club Program recognizes clubs that have demonstrated outstanding achievements in education, membership and club building, club leadership, and club communication. The President's Distinguished Club is the highest honor in the program. Downey's Toastmasters Club 587 meets every Tuesday at First Baptist Church of Downey, room 116, at 6 p.m. and is open to anyone with a desire to improve their communication and leadership skills.
