Travel tips for hard of hearing

LAKEWOOD - Dr. Bill Busch, who had surgery in October to implant a cochlear impact device to regain his hearing, will speak Jan. 12 at the Weingart Senior Center in Lakewood.The seminar is part of the regular meeting of the Hearing Loss Association Long Beach and Lakewood Chapter. Busch, who has battled Menier's disease for 40 years, will offer tips on hear better while traveling on planes, trains and automobiles. Busch received his Ph.D. in electrical engineering from USC. He says he could communicate with astronauts in outer space but had difficulty talking to his wife over the breakfast table. The seminar is free and no reservations are necessary.
