Warren snuffs out undefeated Paramount

Twenty-two points in the first half of the game was enough to hand Paramount it's first San Gabriel Valley League loss in Warren's 22-11 victory on the road Friday. The Bears were able to jump out to a 12-point lead after rushing touchdowns by quarterback Sam Bettencourt and running back Jamil Magee at halftime.

Magee's score was a 41-yard jaunt while Bettencourt's score was in the red zone from two yards out. After Bettencourt's touchdown, the Bears faked a field goal and holder Robert Quinones found receiver Michel Sanangelo for 2 points.

Second half woes offensively continue to plague the Bears with them never getting to the red zone in the third or fourth quarter.

Defense continues to be a crutch the Bears can lean on with Ryan McFadden and Bettencourt intercepting passes from Paramount quarterback Larry Hill. The loss was also Paramount's first at home this season.
