Winter clothing sought for homeless

DOWNEY – A local nonprofit group is collecting donations as it works to deliver winter gear to the homeless population. Every fourth Sunday of the month, L.A. on Cloud 9 volunteers provide a hot meal at MacArthur Park in Los Angeles, where donated clothing, shoes, toys, and pet food/flea medication are distributed to more than 350 homeless and needy people and their pets.

On a weekly basis, L.A. on Cloud 9’s adult and youth volunteer group (Teen Challenge), visit different areas throughout Los Angeles, distributing food, clothing, pet food/supplies and hygienic products to the homeless.

The group is currently in need of winter clothing, including jackets, gloves, beanies, blankets and socks.
