Worthy school district

Dear Editor:Reading The Downey Patriot and noting the achievement of our schools and students, it occurred to me why the whole city of Downey does not honor our school board, teachers and students in a public act. Going further, why do we not pitch-in regularly some "bucks" to create funds for scholarships (leaving politics out)? Sergio Estevez Downey
