Downey resident Yolanda Adele visited Graceland for what would have been Elvis Presley's 77th birthday. Adele, whose story about being kissed by Elvis at this 1969 Las Vegas opening at the International Hilton was published in the Patriot a couple years ago, was interviewed by Elvis Radio/Sirius Radio where she told them of that memorable time. "I mentioned that The Downey Patriot published my story, and they sent out kudos over the airways to The Downey Patriot from Memphis, Tenn.," said Adele.
