I don't know, it seems kind of strange to me to have Olive Garden and Papa John's Pizza at next week's Taste of Downey food and wine festival.
Nothing against them personally, but aren't they a little too *corporate* for an event intended to highlight the best of Downey's cuisine? Or at least that's what I thought Taste of Downey was about.
Everything else looks awesome, however. Here's the full lineup, as snagged from the city's website today:
The Palms Steak and Seafood
Bob's Big Boy
Johnny Carino's Italian
Frantone's Pizza and Spaghetti Villa
Fresh Cutt Carving Grill
Hacker's Sports Bar and Grill
La Barca Grill & Cantina
Menchie's Frozen Yogurt
Pacific Fish Grill
Papa John's Pizza
Two for Tango
Tickets for 10 "tastes" are $20 and can be purchased at the event or in advance from City Hall, the Downey Theatre box office and the senior center.
This year's event is on Downey Avenue and also includes a beer and wine garden, live entertainment, and more.
