In one of his first appointments as a new council member, Alex Saab has tapped Jim Rodriguez for the Planning Commission.

Councilman Luis Marquez, who gave up his district 5 seat and was elected to represent district 1 last November, is bringing his commissioner, Hector Lujan, with him. Lujan replaces Michael Murray, Marquez's election opponent.

The city council still needs to ratify the appointments Tuesday.
