Police have not publicly identified last night's shooting victim, who was gunned down outside Gloria's Restaurant by an unknown assailant.

The shooting occurred at about 8:30 p.m. Police found the victim - described only as a man in his 20's - suffering from several gunshot wounds. Downey paramedics transported him to the trauma unit St. Francis Medical Center where he died.

A woman who says she lives down the street from Gloria's tweeted the Patriot last night. "I heard what I thought were 3 fireworks go off around 8:40," wrote @Kitty_420.

The suspect was described as a male Hispanic with a dark complexion wearing a hooded red sweatshirt. He fled in a white four-door sedan.
