Crime Report for week of Aug. 23

Thursday, August 15: A 55-year-old woman was arrested for shoplifting at JC Penney’s. It was later determined that she had a prior conviction for the same offense, thereby making her eligible for a felony charge. She was booked for felony theft and transported to the Los Angeles County Jail.

Friday, August 16: Officers assisted Cal Trans with clearing a homeless encampment from the area of Angell & Stanbridge. A found property report was completed to document miscellaneous items that were left behind by the camp occupants.

Saturday, August 17: At 3:00 p.m., officers arrested a 30-year-old man at his home in the 12300 block of Dunrobin after he was determined to be under the influence of a controlled substance and hallucinating. The subject had called police reporting a man was armed with a gun in the vicinity, which was unfounded.
