Crime Report for week of Aug. 29

Friday, August 23:
A DUI Checkpoint was conducted between the hours of 6:00 p.m. and 2:00 a.m. in the area of Firestone Blvd. and Rives Ave. The checkpoint resulted in 1,593 vehicles being screened, 2 DUI arrests, 31 citations for unlicensed drivers, 11 citations for suspended licenses, 3 child safety seat citations, and 13 vehicles being impounded.

Sunday, August 25:
A victim was selling her iPhone 5 through a Craigslist advertisement. The victim met the suspect at the corner of Old River School Rd and Florence Ave. As they met up, the suspect grabbed the phone from victim as she held it to her ear. The suspect was last seen running from the area.

Monday, August 28:
Officers received a call of a subject throwing rocks near the 8000 block Comolette. Officers responded to the 8000 block of Comolette and contacted the subject. It was determined that a crime had not occurred and the subject was allowed to leave. A short time later, officers were called back to the area due to the rock throwing subject now threatening to kill the person who called the police. The suspect was re-contacted and placed under arrest for threatening the victim.
