Crime report for week of May 10

Friday, May 3
At 10:30 p.m., a shooting occurred in the parking lot of the CVS pharmacy located at 7915 Florence. The male adult victim was standing in the parking lot when he saw an adult male and female arguing outside of a vehicle. The two subjects entered the vehicle, and as they drove away, the male subject fired a single gunshot out of the passenger window which grazed the victim’s leg. He was transported to a local hospital for non-life threatening injuries. Detectives are investigating.

Saturday, May 4
At 3:15 a.m., officers responded to a residence in the 10400 block of Lesterford regarding a stabbing. Officers located both the victim and suspect inside the home. The incident occurred when the victim, an adult male and the suspect, an adult male, began to argue. The suspect grabbed a kitchen knife and stabbed the victim, who was later transported to a local hospital for non-life threatening injuries. The suspect was arrested for the assault.

Wednesday, May 8
At 6:54 p.m., a Downey Police Officer was driving in the area of Bellflower Blvd and Stewart and Gray Road, when he saw a male writing on a trash can. The suspect was using a marker to write graffiti and when the officer attempted to contact the male, he ran from officers. The male was eventually located and arrested.
