The Downey Firemen’s Association has endorsed Tony Mendoza for state senate, snubbing Downey Councilman Mario Guerra, who is running for the same seat.
“While serving in the State Assembly, your hard work and concern for people underscored your commitment to maintaining first-rate fire and paramedic protection for your constituents – in the most efficient, cost effective manner,” Steve Davis, president of the Downey Firemen’s Association, wrote in a letter to Mendoza’s campaign.
“Downey’s firefighters and paramedics look forward to helping you tell District 32 voters why they can count on you to continue to be a dedicated public safety advocate for them in the State Senate in the years ahead. The record shows that you stand with us on those issues that are relevant to the lives and well-being of our members and, most importantly, the Downey residents we are sworn to protect and serve.”
