Downey’s entry in the Tournament of Roses Parade has won the Founders’ Trophy for “most beautiful float built and decorated by volunteers from a community or organization.”
Created by the Downey Rose Float Association, the float is 28 ft. tall, 18 ft. wide and 50 ft. long, and features an estimated 10,000 roses in an array of colors.
A fountain is located in the middle of the float, with orchids used as water.
Downey’s float is No. 60 out of 92 in today’s parade lineup.
