A “suspicious” fire broke out at a Downey house this morning, the second time in one week that the house erupted in flames.
The latest fire at the two-story home, located on the 9300 block of Paramount Blvd., occurred today at 6:06 a.m. Responding firefighters from Engine 63 arrived to find smoke coming from the home’s eaves.
Once inside the vacant house, crews reported a small fire on the second floor, spreading into the attic space above.
The fire was quickly extinguished with minimal damage to the home.
Firefighters had responded to the same house last week for a similarly suspicious fire, authorities said.
Both fires remain under investigation.
