Firestone Boulevard has been reduced to a single lane between Stewart & Gray Road and the Target entrance in Norwalk, and it’s expected to remain that way for at least three months.
The closures are necessary as crews make repairs to the bridge that links Downey and Norwalk. A second lane is expected to open September but all six lanes are not expected to fully open until December 2015.
“Expect heavy traffic delays during this period,” the Downey Police Department advised in a Nixle alert. “The public is encouraged to use alternate routes during this period.”
